The Wizard of Oz-2008

They're Playing Our Song-2008

The Not So Common Players is a musical community theater group located in Clifton Park, New York. Current board members are Jennifer Bullington, Karen Boynton, Pat O'Donnell, Dian Dippold, Sally and John Burke, Richard Lenehan, Cindy Nagle, Linda Mizeur and Jeremy Noble. Founded in 2000 by Jennifer Bullington and Yvonne Masse, the members of NSCP felt a strong desire to produce quality community theater after the Clifton Park Players left the area. Through our productions we hope to encourage members of the community to get involved and love musical theater, as we do. We are very proud and fortunate to be sponsored by the Town of Clifton Park, and to perform on the outside stage at the Clifton Common and the Shenendehowa High School Little Theater.

All performances are free to the public!

Hope to see you at our next show,

"The Spitfire Grill"

Directed by Don Countermine with Musical Direction by Vince Bonafede

Past shows include Stephen Sondheim's You're Gonna Love Tomorrow in 2001, Crazy for You in 2002, The Queen of Hearts and South Pacific in 2003 and Rockin the Night Away,  Annie Get Your Gun and 27 Million in 2004, Some Enchanted Evening, Guys and Dolls  and Little Shop of Horrors in 2005, and Two by Two, Into the Woods and National Icon in 2006 and Little Mary Sunshine, The Pajama Game and Red, Hot and Cole in 2007, They're Playing Our Song and The Wizard of Oz in 2008. We were also honored to be asked to perform at First Night Saratoga in December of 2003 and participate in the adult reading program at the Clifton Park/Halfmoon Library for "Books on Broadway" in 2008. Check out the photo album for great pictures from our shows and some behind the scenes candids.

We have sad news to pass along to our audience:

The stellar performer, director, critic, arts editor and generally fabulous individual, Doug de Lisle, peacefully left this world on February 1, 2008. He was 62 years young. We shall be eternally grateful to Doug for being a true supporter of the Not So Common Players over the years. He was the director of our very popular shows "Little Shop of Horrors" and "Little Mary Sunshine". Doug was a true gentleman and we will miss him so!

Troy Record article on Doug de Lisle

Colin McCarty, who played the baker in our summer production, "Into the Woods" died suddenly on February 6th, 2008. He would have celebrated his 50th birthday this April.  Colin was a gifted thespian who has appeared in many productions around the capital district area. Both he and his partner, Tom Heckert, have been wonderful friends of NSCP. We will truly miss Colin's wit  and amazing talent.
